PopTech excites Camden with ‘Sparks of Brilliance’
October 18, 2013
Every October, the annual PopTech conference draws more than 600 people to our historic Camden Opera House and fills our inns, our streets and our shops and restaurants with visitors from around the world. Following on the heels of the Camden International Film Festival, PopTech 2013 will take place October 24-26 and will bring an amazing array of innovators, thinkers, business leaders and more to our coastal town to share ideas on important themes and topics.
What is Poptech exactly?
According to the website, PopTech is a global community of innovators, brought together from many different fields—from science and technology to public health, social and ecological innovation, and the arts and humanities—to create a network that complements the traditional informational silos to inspire and create change.
When participants from very diverse disciplines come together to share their ideas, they can also begin to work together on new approaches to some of the world’s toughest challenges.
Through this unique event, global leaders from a variety of different industries and disciplines share thought-provoking content in an intimate and informal setting. Guests gain insight into where our world is headed and the inspiration to make the changes that need to be made.
“Sparks of Brilliance”
The focus of this year’s conference is “Sparks of Brilliance,” which will bring together visionaries from many different fields to explore the role of creativity in the 21st century. Designers, psychologists, artists, scientists, gamers, comedians and more will take the stage and answer questions like: Where does our creativity come from? Can it be taught or amplified? How is the creative instinct expressed differently in business, the sciences, society and the arts? What can these learn from each other? How do we meet a world of fierce challenges with a spirit of creative possibility?
Be a part of the event
While the conference is open only to ticket holders, the PopTech stage presentations are streamed free-of-charge to viewers all around the world.
