Baby, it's cold outside!
If you can't be sunning yourself on a tropical island you might as well embrace the cool beauty of Camden during January!
Good news Snowbirds! The Camden Snow Bowl is opening on January 18th (that's 10 days away!) We're all cheering for the colder weather to stick around, but the ground is considered frozen at this point, so the giant snow making machines are hard at work on the mountain. Get your skis, snowboards, and snow tubes ready, the new updates and upgrades are sure to please everyone.
Camden's very own U.S. Toboggan Nationals are right around the corner, coming up the weekend of the 6th of February. Not only are we recognized nationally for this event, but we're also a local favorite for the festivities that encompass the entire two day span.
The local favorite, Camden Winterfest kicks off January 31 for week long events all around town. Fun for the entire family, you'll find something for everyone. We're pretty fond of the Ice Carving demonstration at the Camden Public Library.
Speaking of beauty, don't miss out on some self guided moonlight cross country skiing or snow shoeing at Aldermere Farms. The terrain around the farm, and the surrounding streets are perfect for a little excercise if you've been cooped up in a car or plane.
If that's not enough (we're exhausted just typing this!), there's some great stuff going on at the Camden Opera House all winter long. A day of outdoor fun can lead you to a night of great musical entertainment at the Camden Opera House with Community Supported Music on January 23rd. Also, a kid favorite Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory will be showing on January 24th. Maybe even bend your mind and check out the Downtown Poetry Party on January 30th. Tons of great outdoor and indoor activities to keep you entertained.
