Battie trail from the rear of the property, you can roam 30 miles of hiking trails with breathtaking views of the Penobscot Bay, Gulf of Maine, and Lake Megunticook.
Abigail’s has 4 guest rooms, each of substantial size and comfort. Each room is decorated in its own style, providing the classic feel of an 1830’s era Greek Revival while providing the convenience of modern amenities. All rooms feature private baths, queen size beds or larger, plush robes, wifi access, and flat screen televisions with DVD players. Our suites are equipped with writing desks and gas fireplace/stoves, with one equipped with a large 2 person jacuzzi tub. We use high thread count cotton linens and plush cotton towels. Each room is furnished with a mix of period pieces and contemporary furniture that blends well. Our focus is comfortable elegance without constricting our guests ability to relax and enjoy.
Abigail’s serves a multi-course breakfast to our guest’s each morning. Some of our favorite dishes include fritatas, dutch bunnies, stuffed french toast, and fruit tarts. Each afternoon, enjoy baked treats made fresh for our guests enjoyment.
Abigail’s is also proud to be recognized by the State of Maine as an Environmental Leader in lodging. We work continuosly to reduce total waste while increasing proportion of recyclable waste products. We have converted to environmentally friendly cleaning products and use only re-usable cotton cleaning rags. We compost our lawn clippings and leaves on the premises and participate in Community Supported Agriculture programs for fresh vegetables in the kitchen. We have reduced our overall carbon footprint by cutting in half our use of fossil fuels and electricity to heat and operate the business. Abigail’s is also proud signatory/participant in a town initiative pledging to not use toxic chemicals and fertilizers on our lawn.
